Business ethicist Prof. Dr. Harald Bolsinger is a member of the board of the International School of Management Excellence (ISME) in Bangalore, India.
Making internationalization tangible: Prof. Dr. Harald Bolsinger from the THWS Business School at the Technical University of Würzburg-Schweinfurt (THWS) has been appointed to the International Advisory Council of the International School of Management Excellence in Bangalore, India. The advisory board cultivates strategic, international partnerships to open up long-term global opportunities, support companies, and better tap into global markets. It also aims to strengthen the exchange of teachers and increase student mobility. In addition, the International Advisory Council promotes international research collaboration with a high degree of practical relevance. Dr. Nitin Garg, founder and managing director of the International School of Management Excellence (ISME) in Bangalore, India, explains the appointment by saying that internationalization must become practical: “Internationalization must reflect how institutions collaborate internationally in the creation of knowledge. The International Advisory Council was established to lend consistency, accountability, and implementation orientation to this endeavor.”

Award for innovative teaching practices
The practice-oriented ISME was already recognized as a top business school with the highest academic excellence by the Bangalore Management Association in 2022. It currently maintains academic partnerships in seven countries, including Singapore, Germany, France, the USA, Belarus, and Malaysia. The International Advisory Council is tasked with advising on the expansion of international activities across ISME’s entire academic portfolio and promoting internationalization in key academic and institutional areas. “It is a great honor to be able to contribute to the further development of our innovative partner university ISME in India,” says Prof. Dr. Bolsinger, delighted with the trust placed in him. “This appointment shows that internationalization works best with experience from different cultures, collaboratively and with mutual give and take!”
Goals for students
In the summer semester of 2026, ISME students at THWS Business School will complete a teaching research project on Indian-German start-up options. For the future, there are plans to set up innovative internship options for THWS Business School students at renowned companies in Bangalore, mediated and supervised by ISME. Prof. Dr. Bolsinger, who visited the university in Bangalore in 2024 as keynote speaker at the 12th International Conference of ISME, emphasizes: “The values of an internationally oriented, equally practice-oriented and research-strong university, such as integrity, team spirit, and management excellence, are excellently reflected at THWS Business School.”
